BCP: From Basic to Brilliant: A Structured Approach to Public Speaking and In-Service Design in O&P

Many experienced O&P professionals rely on broad, unstructured approaches when organizing complex information for in-services, meetings, and professional education. This session introduces a structured method for public speaking using the Minto Pyramid Principle, answer-first communication, and rapid presentation design to help clinicians build clear, persuasive presentations in minutes rather than hours. Attendees will leave with practical tools to improve clarity, engagement, and confidence when communicating clinical evidence and professional insights.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Apply Minto's Pyramid Principle to organize any O&P presentation in minutes, clarifying the core message, structuring supporting topics logically, and selecting evidence that drives the audience toward a clear business outcome.
  2. Use McCarthy's 4MAT System to construct an introduction that engages all four learning types in the room, ensuring every audience member, regardless of personality or learning style, is connected to the content from the first slide. Build each topic section using the SEEDS Method (Statement, Evidence, Emotion, Demonstration) to deliver high-impact, personalized in-services that establish clinical expertise and strengthen referral relationships.
  3. Build each topic section using the SEEDS Method (Statement, Evidence, Emotion, Demonstration) to deliver high-impact, personalized in-services that establish clinical expertise and strengthen referral relationships.
