This presentation distills hard-earned “wish-I-knew” lessons from seasoned O&P business owners into practical guidance for navigating today’s rapidly evolving landscape. It explores common operational, financial, and strategic blind spots—ranging from delayed investments in data, people, and compliance to underestimating payer and market shifts. Attendees will gain actionable insights on leadership, culture, and growth strategies that support sustainability and differentiation. The session equips O&P leaders with clear, experience-based principles they can apply immediately to strengthen performance and position their practices for long-term success.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the key operational and financial indicators that distinguish thriving O&P clinics from struggling ones, and apply practical strategies to strengthen business performance from the inside out.
- Recognize common pitfalls in revenue cycle management, compliance, and administrative operations that O&P business owners encounter, and understand proactive approaches to avoid or address them.
- Develop a personalized action plan by translating real-world lessons and best clinics into immediate, applicable steps for building a more sustainable, patient-centered O&P business.
This is a Business Certificate Program elective under the Healthcare Operations pillar. Note: At the end of this course, you will receive a certificate for CE credit upon successful completion of the quiz. Please note that is a certificate for CE credits only and not the IIOP and AOPA O&P Business Certificate. The IIOP and AOPA O&P Business Certificate requires enrollment in and successful completion of four AOPA electives (one from each pillar) and four IIOP core courses. Upon successful completion of the Business Certificate Program, AOPA will reach out to you about receiving your O&P Business Certificate.
Individuals not participating in the AOPA and IIOP Business Certificate Program are still welcome to take this course for CE credit and/or educational purposes.
