Video: Medicare Updates & Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT)

Members of the DME CERT Outreach and Education Task Force and education teams for the DME MACs (Noridian and CGS) will be on hand to provide up to date information on changes in the fee-for-service Medicare program affecting O&P Medicare suppliers, as well as the most current information on claim errors identified by the CERT contractor. Presenters will discuss top policies experiencing errors, an explanation of whether those errors are curable, and guidance to prevent these errors in the future. There is also time allotted for questions from the O&P community. The question-and-answer portion of the session will be supported by the CPOs from Noridian and CGS, Pat Peick and Sienna Newman.

Judie Roan is a Provider Relations Senior Analyst with CGS Jurisdiction C. Prior to joining CGS, Judie was an Outreach Specialist with the Jurisdiction A DME MAC and an Ombudsman and Business Analyst with the Region A DMERC. Judie brings over twenty-five years of Medicare experience to her current position. Her primary focus is providing the highest quality education and sharing her in-depth knowledge of Medicare policies. She strives to help the supplier community utilize all the valuable resources available for the DMEPOS industry, guiding them to submit claims correctly and successfully pass audits.

Tanya Gillies holds the position of education consultant for the outreach and education teams, providing guidance to both the Jurisdiction A and Jurisdiction D durable medical equipment Medicare administrative contractors (DME MAC) administered by Noridian Healthcare Solutions. As an education consultant, she is responsible for offering support to the supplier community as well as creating and presenting training courses involving detailed billing, coding, and coverage requirements for Medicare fee-for-service. Tanya has been involved in the DMEPOS community for over 17 years and started her career with Noridian on the Redetermination team as an examiner, team trainer, operations coordinator, quality improvement program analyst, then moving to the Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC) Formal Telephone Discussion Demonstration contract providing education to supplier who participated in the demonstration. With the QIC contract, Tanya joined the Provider Outreach and Education team continuing in education efforts for the supplier community.

Kimberly Hanson is the Director of Reimbursement at Ottobock. Kimberly has been at Ottobock for over 12 years. Kimberly and her team manage all coding, coverage, and reimbursement strategies for new and existing products at Ottobock which include Orthotics and Prosthetics. Prior to joining Ottobock, Kimberly was the Director of Operations for a Hospital system and 6 patient care clinics. She managed all scheduling, billing, collections, and business development for the clinic system. Kimberly is a member of the DME MAC Advisory Councils for all 4 regions and recently became certified as a Consultant for Policy and Reimbursement for Healthcare (CPRH).
