Real World Objective Outcome Measures Through the Use of Wearables for Remote Monitoring in Orthotics and Prosthetics

With the advent of remote monitoring reimbursement codes, wearable sensors have become more common in the treatment of patients with a variety of conditions. The field of O&P inherently includes devices that could easily be equipped with monitoring features, allowing referring physicians, physical therapists and other members of the treatment team to remotely monitor patients for physical activity and other indications of health/wellness. In this talk we will provide practical tips for integrating wearable monitoring technology, including an example system developed specifically for use with orthoses and prostheses.
